Mahayana Study Course

Not Even a Middle

Tuesdays, starting September 11 from 7:00 to 8:30

Path to EnlightenmentAnnouncing the next class in our Mahayana series! It is “Not even a Middle”!  This class covers the Madhyamaka or “Emptiness” teachings.  Ponlop Rinpoche has emphasized the importance of the Madhyamaka view and how it is crucial to truly understanding and practicing Mahamudra, Dzogchen, Yogachara and other aspects of Vajrayana as well as working with emotions and settling your mind.
The class will will cover the Five Great Reasonings, the two major Rangtong Madhyamaka schools, Relative and Absolute Truth and delve into the benefits and results of realizing emptiness.  There will be a meditation practicum and we discuss the compatibility of Madyamaka and Yogachara.  This class has a lot of practical and experiential aspectsand will taught with this in mind.
Date/Time:  Tuesday Sept. 11th through Nov. 13 (10 weeks) from 7:00 to 8:30
Cost:   $65 for members, $75 for  non-members and the text will run $15. If you have taken the class before you may retake it for free. If tuition is a issue please contact Steve.

Lama Tenpa Wednesday Evening Teachings

37 Practices of the Bodhisattva

September 12 through December 12, 6:30 to 8:30, with meditation from 6:30 to 7:00

Lama Tenpa will teach on the 37 Practices of the Bodhisattva, profound text by Togmey Zangpo on becoming a bodhisattva .  It’s a short text but timely and beautiful and practical.   The talks are Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30.  Please join us at 6:30 for a 30 minute mediation.   Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen is a professor of Buddhist studies and Tibetan language at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.  His teachings are joyful and insightful.

Audience:    Open to all.

Date and Time: Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30.  Join us at 6:30 for sitting meditation.  Talks will start promptly at 7:0o PM.  Every Wednesday from September 12 – December 12. No class on Oct. 31 or Nov. 21st.

Suggested donation $15 per evening.  Or, $125 for all of the talks.  Or, checks or cash at the door.

Sunday Open Meditation

All are welcome!

The sitting practice of meditation is an invaluable tool!
Come join us any Sunday morning between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.
We offer basic instruction at 9 am and continue with mindful sitting and walking meditation.

Tara Practice from 11:00 to 12:30 on the 1st Sunday of the month

Lujong Practice from 11:00 to 12:30 on the 2nd Sunday of the month

On the 4th Sunday of the month, we have Open Heart Circle practice from 11:00 – 11:30 to send prayers to those who are ill or have recently died.
