Nalandabodhi Boulder Silent Auction and Social!

NBB Entry WayPlease save the date! We hope you’ll join us for our annual Nalandabodhi Boulder silent auction and fundraiser. The proceeds will go to scholarships for Sangha Retreat, and to help with ongoing support for Odantapuri, our Nalandabodhi center.

This year we will include a special event: The Great Salsa Taste-off. Anyone wanting to share that special salsa recipe you’ve been making, please consider bringing a pint for the judging. Another pint to sell at the auction would be good to have as well. Prizes for the one voted best!

We need support in many ways. Please consider helping with: bar / door check in and out / take down. If you are available please contact Eileen at eileenkay1027@msn.com.

Another way to support the event is to offer an item or service. Ask for a donation at places you frequent or give your own service certificate. Please contact Trish with your donations or if you’re unsure of what to offer, she can help with some creative ideas: tflastersprint@earthlink.net

Lama Tenpa Tuesday Evening Talks and Teachings on the Bodhisattva Path

 Lama Tenpa will start a new series of teachings on Tuesday evenings at Nalandabodhi on the The Eight Verses of Mind Training by Langri Tanpa.  The teaching will be every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30, starting September 12.  Sitting is from 6:30 to 7:00.  All are welcome.

Date and Time:  Tuesday evening, starting September 12,  from 7:00 to 8:30.  Talks will start promptly at 7:00 PM but please join us for a brief mediation period from 6:30 to 7:00.

Suggested donation is $15.00 per evening.  The full series of teachings is available for $120.00  Donate via PayPal below, or bring a check or cash for the offering bowl.  No one is turned away for lack of funds.  Contact us about your situation and we will work with you on an affordable option.

The path of wisdom and compassion in Buddhism is called the Mahayana (the great Vehicle). It builds on the foundational teachings of the Buddha by focusing on the Profound Views and Vast Conduct of the Bodhisattvas.

The next course in our series on the Mahayana are the teachings on Yogachara and Vast Conduct.  The “Vast Conduct” teachings focus on the experience of working with mind through meditation and virtuous conduct. This is about “Path” and skillful means! About actualizing!

Audience: Best suited for people who have some Buddhist study. Contact Steve Burden for more information if you have a question.

Dates/Time: Wednesday evenings, starting September 13, from 7:00 to 8:30pm

Location: 100 Arapahoe Ave, Suite 6

Cost: $75 for members and $90 for non members. This includes a sourcebook of teachings from Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.  No one is turned away for lack of funds.  Contact us about your situation and we will work with you on an affordable option.

Introduction to Buddhism:  Karma, Rebirth, and Selflessness

 Wednesdays, March 15 – April 5

blue flower centerNalandabodhi is offering a series of talks and courses on foundational Buddhist topics beginning Wednesday, March 15, for 4 weeks.

The introductory courses in the Nalandabodhi Path of Study explore the basic principles of Buddhism.  If you are new to Buddhism this is a good place to start.  If you have been studying Buddhism, these courses could serve as refresher or bring new insight into the foundational teachings of the Buddha.

The courses are based on talks by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.  Senior Nalandabodhi students facilitate the discussion based on a sourcebooks of talks by Rinpoche.

The next course is Karma, Rebirth, and Selflessness

All are welcome! These classes may be attended as a 4-week course or on a drop-in basis.

The course is $25 and includes the sourcebook. This option is for people interested in attending all of the classes.

For drop-in participation, a donation of $5 per evening is requested. You may attend any evening talk or discussion.

A short guided meditation will start each class.

Date/Time: March 15 through April 5, 7:00 to 8:30 PM

Cost: $25 for the 4 classes, including the sourcebook. Othewise, a $5 donation is requested.
