Mahayana Study Course

Paramitas, Paths and Fruition

Tuesdays, starting May 14 from 7:00 to 8:30

Our next Mahayana class is entitled “Paramitas, Paths and Fruition” otherwise known and “Paths and Bhumis”.  We will have a in depth discussion of the 6 paramitas of generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation(dhyana) and insight(prajna). The five Paths and how they develop merit and wisdom and lead to complete enlightenment will be covered. The ten Bhumis or the ten grounds of awakening which include the Paths of Seeing and Meditation are essential Mahayana teachings on the realizations of the Bodhisattvas and how they become Buddhas. This might sound heady, but the text by The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche puts great focus on how these teaching can benefit us in daily life and in ourpractice of meditation.

Members of the public and other Sanghas are welcome to come and join in.

Date/Time:  7 to 8:30 pm on Tuesdays starting May 14th and runs for 6 classes.
Cost:   $65 for members, $75 for  non-members and the text will run $15.  If you have taken the class before you may retake it for free.  If you have questions or concerns about the cost please contact Steve Bruden.  We want everyone who is interested to be able to come.
