Emotional Rescue: Harness the Energy of Emotions to Empower Us
Five Classes Meeting Every Other Saturday, January 7 through March 4
In difficult times, we need tools for dealing with anger, fear, helplessness, anxiety and sadness.
Emotions are a potent aspect of our lives – but do we know how to harness their power and skillfully transform the hurt and confusion into energy that empowers us? In his latest book Emotional Rescue, Dzogchen Ponlop offers practical step by step guidance in how to recognize, understand, transform and utilize the basic energy of even our negative emotions to see them freshly and experience them more directly so we may live a more compassionate, creative, fulfilling life.
This embodied 5 week course will offer experiential exercises, discussion, readings, and teachings from Emotional Rescue as we go deeper into discovering ways to work with our emotional landscape. All are welcome to join the class.
The class will be co-facilitated by two long-time students of Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Susan Aposhyan, MA, LPC and Patti Chenis, MA, LPC.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Emotional Rescue: How to Work with Your Emotions to Transform Hurt and Confusion into Energy That Empowers You by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
In this life-changing book, acclaimed Buddhist teacher Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche shows how to free yourself from being a victim of your emotions by gaining the awareness and understanding that will help you harness their power.
Emotions bring color and meaning to our lives, but they can also put us on an exhausting roller-coaster ride that takes us to blissful peak states, the depths of delusion and despair, and everything in between. When we bring awareness to our experience of emotions, something truly amazing happens—they lose their power to make us miserable.
The purpose of this book is to introduce certain methods for working with disturbing emotions so that gradually, step by step, we can move from being victims to partners to creative collaborators with these profound energies.
